What is reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
Reiki practitioners cannot diagnose, nor should reiki replace medical treatment that you are receiving. It is a complementary therapy that can work alongside many other forms of treatment.
Reiki always works for the greatest good, and can be used safely on pregnant women, children and animals.

What to expect from a session
During the session you will be asked to lie or sit down on a massage table. Music will be playing and the client will be guided through a short meditation to aid grounding. The therapist will then either lightly place their hands on, or above the clients body, focussing on the energy centres- or chakras- and non-intimate parts of the body, such as the arms, hands, legs or feet.

About me
My name is Abi, and other than my reiki practice, my full time job is as a teacher and a mum to two wonderful kids. I first came across Reiki in India where I had a really profound experience during a treatment. Since then, it has come up at significant times before finally taking the plunge to train as a Reiki practitioner in 2023.
